End of Year Favourites: Beauty, Bath and Body

I thought I’d type up a little blog post instead of filming a video… This year has been a year of amazing discoveries and a few items I’ve tried have become firm favourites.

Estee Lauder Double Wear; I purchased this as a potential foundation for my wedding and whilst I did wear it then (and it was flawless!), I have also been using it on a day to day basis. I find it can be built up to a completely flawless full coverage or worn slightly more sheer for a medium coverage. Bourjois Twist up the Volume; This is my ultimate favourite mascara. Although I regularly stray from this to try the newest launches, I always come back to this for thick long and volumised lashes. Jeffree Star Liquid Lipsticks; although this year has been a bit of a drama filled year for JSC, I really do love the formula of his lipsticks. They are so comfortable to wear and I absolutely love them! The shade range really is something else too, and they really do last all day. Nars Albatross Highlighter; I purchased this on a whim earlier in the year and it is SO beautiful. It is the perfect golden highlight and I love how it looks on the skin. I think it would work perfectly for lots of different skin tones.

Skin; as you may or may not know, I’m not big on skincare. I’m rubbish at removing my makeup and definitely don’t take great pleasure in a full skincare regime which I know so many people do! This year has been a big year for me however with getting married and I tried a couple of highly recommended bits from Kiehls which have become part of my everyday skincare regime.

Kiehls Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment; this is so thick and luxurious and I love it. I feel like it plumps my under eyes and elps me stop looking quite so tired! Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream; This is such a nice face cream, it helps hydrate my skin and makes it feel super silky. I am currently using the Ultra Facial Balm at night which adds a high level of hydration overnight. Una Brennan Facial Scrub; This smells so fresh and zingy, and the scrubbers are just the right size. I love this for refreshing my skin. Nuxe Reve De Miel; this is an oldie but a goodie for me. It helps keep my lips hydrated and I like to apply this before I go to bed each night! Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Shower Gel and Scrub; I love this scent anyway but it now hold extra special memories for me as I used it the day of the wedding and kept getting a whiff of the lime-y goodness! Elizabeth and James Black Nirvana; I purchased this perfume in November 2015 when we were in Las Vegas and it reminds me so much of getting engaged that I had to wear it when we got married in November this year. Scent is such a strong memory trigger for me that it just transports me back!

What have you been loving this year?

  1. I’ve really gotten into Primark makeup this year. It might not be the best thing out there, but it is so darn cheap and I’ve been pretty pleased with everything I’ve used so far. I might have to try that mascara though, I can never find one I’m happy with.
