I’ve mentioned on here before about how I’m trying to be a bit more ‘minimalist’ – anyone how knows me knows I will never be a minimalist as such, but I’m trying to embrace the less is more approach in a way that suits me. I’ll never be someone who only has one shade of red lipstick, one mascara on the go etc, but at least I can make a conscious effort to finish off a number of the half used products I do have.
I’ve been a big fan of the Physicans Formula butter bronzer since I picked it up on honeymoon (I did a couple of big haul videos from my American beauty shopping which you can see on my channel here) which has meant that my Soap And Glory Solar Powder definitely fell by the wayside, but as my Butter Bronzer has recently smashed to smithereens, I’ve decided it is finally time to finish up my S&G. I love the two tone aspect of this bronzer as it glides onto the skin and never ever looks muddy. I always thought I used each side equally, normally swirling my brush around but the fact that you can see pan on one side more so than the other would suggest otherwise. I’m pretty sure they have since revamped the packaging to plastic rather than cardboard which is definitely a good thing – my poor compact is looking a little bit sad.
Rimmel Shake Up The Volume mascara is a tried and trusted favourite of mine (although I don’t think I’ve ever actually written a post on it!) – I absolutely love this one but think it is coming to the end of its life so it is time to focus on using it up. Although it seemed like somewhat of a gimmicky product when it was released, the formula really is so good.
Makeup Forever Smokey Lash is a sample which I feel like you get all the time in Sephora. This has a gigantic wand but I’ve never actually used it so I’m hoping it will be amazing and convert me to higher end mascaras. As it is a mini product, I’m not sure how long it will last me but it might be a good one which I can use up before the end of the year.
This NYX Brow Gel is something I picked up ages ago and it has been festering in my drawer for a while now, whilst the Essence equivalent had taken over from it. My main concern with this product is that the wand is seriously so long. The product itself is really good but I’m not wild about the wand. I’m not too sure how much life this has left in it but its one I really want to finish up and declutter.
I’m in a love hate relationship with this Kat Von D tattoo liner. I had never dropped anything more than about £8 on an eyeliner before picking this one up and I’ve really enjoyed using it since I’ve had it. However, I flick between this one and my trusty Collection Felt Tip Liner (£3.99!) and really can’t tell the difference most days, then out of the blue the KVD one will surprise me with its longevity. I don’t know how I feel about it. I picked up one of her Ink Liners whilst we were away so I’m interested to see how I get on with that one in comparison.
I picked up the IT Cosmetics CC Cream in Light when I was in Ulta and my god, I love this product. I’ve whizzed through it though and it isn’t cheap at £30 a tube but I bloody love it. The reason it is in my stash and declutter pile however is the shade – this was great for me whilst I was a bit more tan but its just becoming a bit too dark for me. There isn’t loads left in the tube so I’m determined to finish it off so I can order it in Fair. I love the coverage of this as well as the lasting power and cannot imagine being without it now!
Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer is a cult classic for a reason. I love this formula – it almost has an elasticity to it which prevents it from creasing under the eyes and literally lasts all day on me. However, this has been in my collection for a lifetime so it is time to get it used up. I’ve been using this alongside the brightening version which works a treat.
So there we ago – another month, another selection of products I really want to work through and finish ready for the new year! Are you trying to do project pan on any of your collection items?
