I’m making a very conscious effort to use up some of my half used products and think I’m going to start doing these posts once a month or every six weeks. I’ve literally got back ups upon backups so I’m on a mission!
I picked up the Sysoss Shampoo and Conditioner whilst doing my food shop in Tesco. Repurchase? No. These really weighed my hair down and whilst they smelt lovely, I was having to wash my hair twice as often as usual!
I really love the Elvive range but had never tried the L’oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil Shampoo and Conditioner until recently. Repurchase? 100%! These are gorgeous and leave my hair smelling fab, feeling lightweight and shiny.
Aussie Three Minute Miracle is something I’ll repurchase forever more. Although I bloody hate the squeezy packaging, this offers such a boost of hydration to my very dehydrated hair. 100% will repurchase.
The L’oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Masque is one product from the Elvive range which has really let me down. This was SO thick and difficult to apply, and rather than cleanse my oil roots, its made me look super slick rick. Not the one for me!
For my friends hen do I picked up a Boots Colour Vibe Pink Haircolour to put through the ends of my ombre hair. It actually worked really well but only lasted one wash. I loved the baby pink colour it gave. I’d definitely repurchase this for a night or an event!
I got this sample of the Kiehls Amino Acid Shampoo at a Kiehls on Wheels event which I blogged about a while ago and I’d be lying if I said I was wild about this. I don’t think it did anything special for me so it definitely wouldn’t a repurchase for me!
The Pantene Foaming Conditioner piqued my interest from the shelves of the supermarket and I was definitely intrigued by the idea of a foaming conditioner. It did make my hair feel really nice and light, but it had the consistency of shaving foam which was very strange to put in my hair. Whilst I enjoyed using it, I don’t think I’d buy it again!
Since getting my ombre hair done earlier in the year I had been using the Provoke Touch of Silver Purple Conditioner once or twice a week to keep the brassy tones at bay. I actually really like this and think that it works really well. You don’t need to leave it on too long before a noticeable difference can be seen!
I think I said this in my last empties post but the Dove Purely Pampering Body Wash is potentially the worst shower gel I’ve ever used. It is SO THICK. It feels like smearing butter all over your body so I’m glad that the two bottles of this I had are finally gone. I will never purchase this again!
My mum picked up the Beauticology Strawberry and Pomegranate Shower Scrub for me as she was convinced that I love the scent but I’m pretty sure that it wasn’t me. It was nice scented admittedly but this had little to no scubbiness in it. I don’t think I’d bother to pick this up again.
On the other hand Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub is the most scrubbiest of scrubs there is and I’ll continue to repurchase this until the cows come home. I love the lime scent and it seems to last a really long time on the skin too which is glorious too!
LUSH Snow Fairy is a classic. I bulk buy this over Christmas and try to use it as sparingly as possible throughout the year. Whilst these small bottles are a nightmare to use, the scent is such a wonderful sweet scent. I love this scent SO MUCH.
Two bits of this are from Chris – The Dove Clean Comfort shower gel and Lynx Black shower gel. I have no idea where this mini size came from but I secretly love the scent of the Lynx black.
Last but certainly not least is the Bath and Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel Shower Gel. I think this might be my favourite scent of all time. It smell incredible and I used it so slowly over the year or so I had it as I never wanted it to end. It smells so sweet and delicious. I wish we could get this here in the UK!
I picked up the L’oreal Micellar Water as I’d been using the Garnier one for so long but I’m not loving it to be honest. Whilst it was a really good sized bottle, I found this left a film on my skin and didn’t remove all traces of makeup.
I’ve been using up this Origins Clear Improvements Mask for what feels like a lifetime and it is another product that I’m not mad on. I feel like there is a lot of better masks on the high street (I love the L’oreal clay ones) so I don’t think I would repurchase it.
My bestie Molly raved about the Simple Cleansing Oil for such a long time so I decided to pick it up but for 3/3 products – it is another one I don’t love. Whilst it removed my makeup well, it smelt bloody awful. I much prefer my Camomile cleansing balm from The Body Shop.
Cutex Ultra Powerful Nail Varnish Remover was another awful product. This left my nails incredibly dry and sad looking. This category isn’t doing very well is it!
The one item from this category that I actually did love was the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. I love this for brightening my skin if I’m going makeup free as it plumps and moisturises but is also a treat for under makeup too. I have actually got the full size because its so nice!
One of my favourite polishes ever is the Mavala Pure Diamonds Nail Varnish which is just pure holographic glitter goodness in a pot. I love this for an accent nail but sadly it has dried up and gone majorly gloopy. This needs to be repurchased for my collection ASAP.
I really loved using the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara and would 100% repurchase as it offers length and volume without flaking. It lasts all day and is super affordable – what isn’t there to love!
I got this sample of the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in a beauty box I believe and I don’t know if it had gone off or what but it had an almost smokey scent to it which made my eyes water when I used it. I recently had my makeup done at Laura Mercier and didn’t have this issue with the primer when it was used so think it must have been the one I had!
I have used the Benefit Porefessional for literally years and this little sample was in my drawer begging to be used up. It makes your makeup last all day as it is silicon based. I really need to get a new tube of this! Its a staple in my makeup collection.
Another primer I’ve finished up is the Makeup Forever Step 1 Primer – I think this was a sample from Sephora and I prefer the Porefessional. This was more of a moisturising base than a silicone one which I prefer normally. My face needs the gluey aspect that a silicone primer brings!
As far as I’m concerned, a base coat is a base coat so now I’ve finished Essie Base Coat I’m using a Barry M one and can’t say they seem to differ too much! The only thing I find about Essie polishes is that they seem to get really gloopy towards the end of the pot which makes it really hard to use!
Not the typically matte liquid lipstick, the Essence Liquid Lipstick is gorgeous. These are almost balmy in their consistency with a really nice level of colour payoff. I have a couple of other shades and love these. I’m pretty sure the packaging is a rip off of a higher end brand though!
I don’t think I’ve ever written or filmed an empties which didn’t feature the Collection Extreme Felt Tip Liner liners. These are about £4 in boots and they are so good. They literally last all day, don’t flake or dry out. The best drugstore eyeliner around!
I’ve spoken about the Essence Make Me Brow before. This is such a good dupe for the Gimme Brow from Benefit as it offers hold but without being too crunchy or crispy. I think this is £2.20 which is insanely cheap but the quality is great – the brush is tiny on it which allows for precision!
Bloody hell that was a big one. I really like these posts as I feel like it normally shows products that you’ve worked your way through so you can give it a good yes or not to whether you’d repurchase it. Is there anything on here that you love?
