Please tell me where the last year has gone? I feel like it was literally seconds ago that myself and Chris met at university (7 years ago) and I’ve blinked and missed the last few years. This month I’ve been focusing a lot on wedding stuff, and wedding posts and I thought I’d just write a little something something about my first year as a WIFE as today is our one year anniversary!
So many people asked me about how life has changed since getting married but I can honestly say that very little has changed – and that is the way I think it should be! We lived a life very much like the one we are living now before getting married, and although I feel like I love Chris just a smidge bit more than before, our lives haven’t really changed.
Changing my name has been a big thing – and I’m certainly not quite used to calling him my Husband, but I feel like Lora Hull is the name I was born to have in then end. We’ve had ups and downs over the year, and good lord can Chris be seriously menstrual sometimes but the last year has seen us grow as people, succeeding and exceeding personal goals together which has been amazing.
We’ve done some more travelling together (which you can see over on my youtube), we’ve finally decorated our bedroom after two years (that tested the strength of our relationship!) and we’ve both got new jobs and I’ve seen a big ol’ promotion. It is so nice to have someone to share these things together with, and I thank my lucky stars on a daily basis! We’ve spent a lot time with family and friends, and I just love the fact that we are ‘officially’ a unit. I love being part of the Hull family. We’ve been together seven years now and I cannot imagine life anyway.
A year later there isn’t a single thing I’d change about our wedding day (details of the day have been being shared on the blog over the last few weeks and for the remainder of this month too) and I think about the day almost everyday. It truly was such a wonderful day and getting to share it with our loved ones really was, and is, such a special memory. The photographs and videos from the day sum everything up wonderfully, and I’ll be sharing some more of these as the month continues but I honestly wouldn’t have changed it for the world!
We’re celebrating our one year anniversary in a lovely pet friendly hotel with lots of countryside walking, and a very spoilt pooch who is loving the specially cooked dog breakfasts! We’re also vlogging, so I’ll be sharing that soon!
Christopher – your pants on the bathroom floor drive me mad, your cooking skills leave something to be desired but you are kind and thoughtful, hard working and passionate. You’re incredibly stubborn and somewhat grumpy, an old man trapped in a 28 year old body but you’re mine. I love you immensely and cannot thank you enough for the last year as husband and wife, let alone the last seven. All my love, always.
