Empties posts have dropped off the face of my blogging earth recently and as it is recycling day coming up, I’ve decieded its time to tackle the ever increasing pile of empties which are hiding shamefully in the bathroom cupboard.
L’oreal Botanicals Safflower Infusion Shampoo and Conditioner – Firstly, these were expensive in comparison to what I could normally pay for haircare, and the conditioner literally lasted me about 5-6 washes. The squeezy tube made it really hard to use, especially in comparision to the shampoo with its handy pump lid. I mentioned in this post that I felt like I didn’t need to wash my hair as often, and they did leave my hair feeling so soft, easy to manage and workable, but the length of time it took me to whizz through them has put me off. Repurchase? Nah.
L’oreal Elvive Dream Lengths Shampoo and Conditioner – I was easily swayed on purchasing this range when I saw it was for long damaged hair, and had keratin and other goodies in it. The packaging screams summer to me and the fragrance is heavenly (it also lasts so well in your hair and you can smell it when you whoosh past people!) but this gave me the greasiest roots known to man. Within about 12 hours of washing, my roots started to look lank, my ends were frizzing (more than usual) and whilst I smelt amazing, I looked a hot mess. Repurchase? Nope
Garnier Ultimate Blends Argan Richness Shampoo and Conditioner – Another product which deals with dry unruly hair called me name, and I actullay liked this one! I’ve goten on alright with the last few lots of Garnier Ultimate Blends that I’ve used and this one was no exception. Lighter than the elvive mentioned above, it left my dry hair feeling smoother and less brittle. I get on very well with argan oils as general so would imaginge this is partly to do with it but this is a winner! Repurchase? Yes
Garnier Ultimate Blends Coconut Milk and Macadamia Shampoo – The only thing I didn’t like about this was the scent! I’m not sure what I was thinking at the time of purchase as I bloody hate coconut but it has a seriously strong scent. It works just as well as the above Garnier product and whilst I’ll steer away from this particular product because of the scent, I’ll be diving into the range again. Repurchase? No
Garnier Ultimate Blends Argan Oil and Cranberry – Antoher one where my nose clearly wasn’t working when I purchased this. It smells VILE and like something that an old lady would use. It makes your hair gorgeously soft, silky and workable but you smell like aunt mildred. Repurchase? Not this one..!
Batiste Dry Shampoo in Floral and Rose Gold – I don’t need to talk about this product, if you’ve ever ahd any dealings with me, you’ll know I love batiste for freshing up my greas prone hair. It is always a winner for me. Rose Gold is probably my favourite scent they do as it reminds me the perfume they use in the Aria Las Vegas! Repurchase? Always
Aussie Three Minute Miracle Deep Treatment – I’m also pretty sure that I have spoken about this product on here too, this is a favourite in our household. Chris uses it religiously on his beard, I love it as a treat on the ends of my hair. The iconic scent is a dream and I’ll always buy this! Repurchase? We already have another on the go…
Moroccan Oil – Another hull household favourite. Suprisingly enough, this is also one of Chris’ favourite beard products. He became obsessed with this product when his beard products were not ‘giving him enough’ and left his beard feeling scraggly. Several large bottles and several travel sizes later and its a daily musthave for us both. Repurchase? Another which we have already got on the go…!
I seem to whizz through shampoo and conditioner easily but struggle when it comes to styling products, mainly because other than the oil mentioned above, I don’t use a great deal of them! Do you have any recommendations for shampoo and conditioners, I’m always intrigued to hear!
